Search Birth Records and Death Records in the German Death Cards Database
The making of Death Cards was a common practice, particularly for catholics in Germany during the 19th and 20th century.
When a person died the family would commission these cards to let family and friends know of the death.
Most of the cards on my pages are for soldiers in Bavarian units in World War 1.
I am afraid I don't know a great deal about German Funeral customs so if any one has something they would like to add to this page please let me know.

Ancestors At Rest reminds you that when looking for death records for your family tree online to be careful when spelling interment. It's not intermet, internment, inturnment or internmet. Another common one is cemetery, not cemetary or cematary.
