Men from Rochester New York enlist in the cause of The Patriots, under the guise of hunting "red foxes." The Steamboat Caroline is destroyed by a party of men from Upper Canada. 22 people are killed on the boat, either murdered or lost as the boat went over the Falls. BANK ROBBERY IN ONEIDA - The sum of $112,800 was stolen from the Oneida Bank by two men from Canada. George B. Harvey is one of the robbers. - 3 column inches.

CHARLES, CANADA - Village of St. Charles is destroyed by Royalists under Lieutenant Colonel Wetheral. Among those taken are mentioned, Mr. T.S. Brown, and Charles Drolet. It is also said that Papineau and O’Callaghan had been captured. Having been deserted by General T.S. Brown, Papineau and O’Callaghan find him, intending, under Court Martial, to shoot him. They, instead search him after he claims he had not deserted. Finding no cause to believe him, they strip him of his money and clothes and let him go. REVEREND ELIJAH PARISH LOVEJOY - Native of Albion, Kennebec County, Maine, son of Daniel Lovejoy emigrates to St. Louis, Missouri and publishes a paper advocating Henry Clay for President. Mob opposes Lovejoy, destroying his press and ran him out of town. He settled in Alton, Illinois where he hoped to enjoy freedom of speech provided by a group of citizens claiming to be friends of the freedom of public discussion. He is killed during a riot in that city. - 3.5 column inches. MARIA MONK - Monk’s reports of "hideous transactions" taking place at nunnery in Montreal of it’s winding passages and dungeons are tested by a Mr. Curry, a Presbyterian clergyman and others with permission form the nunnery.- 1 column inches.
