Alexandria Bay, November 12-Roswell P. Trickey, 43, veteran
of the World
War and life long resident of the Village, died in Rochester
Sunday
after a long illness with Tuberculosis.
Mr. Trickey was born in the Village of Alexandria Bay [Brian's note: Rochester County, New York] on
January 19,
1892, a son of Peter and Eliza Jones Trickey. He lived in
the village
continously until the entry of the United States in the
World War when
he enlisted in the Army as a volunteer, being a member of
one of the
first regiments sent to France.
Mr. Trickey say service in the Meuse-Argonne campaign and
was gassed
during the Battle of the Argonne.
After his return from the World War Mr. Trickey worked for
C.S. Thompson
as a ticket seller. Always active in legion affairs, Mr.
Trickey was a
promoter of a number of benifit shows for the local legion
post.
Surviving Mr. Trickey are his wife, Louise Trickey, his son
Peter
Trickey and three sisters, Mrs. Thomas Porter, Mrs. Duncan
Rae and Mrs.
Ralph Flynn. All of Alexandria Bay.
A Military funeral will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 for
Mr. Trickey.
The local legion will be represented by their full
membership and will
provide a military escort as well as a firing squad.
Funeral services will be held from the Glitz undertaking
home, this
village, with the Reverand William Aubry, pastor of the
local Methodist
Episcopal Church, officiating. Burial will be made in the
Walton Street
cemetery.

Peter's parents were Thomas & Emeline Trickey, and I found this webpage with a lot of information on the Trickey lineage.
