OBITUARY: FREDERICK DRESSLER (1832-1917)
From the "Little River Monitor" Vol. 32 #19 dated Oct. 11, 1917:
"FRED DRESSLER-Fred Dressler was born in Union County, Pennsylvania, May 18, 1832*, and died at Hutchinson, Kansas, October 8, 1917, aged 85 years, 4 months and 15 days. As a young man he came west and located in the state of Michigan where, on December 25, 1856, he was united in marriage to Miss Lucinda Hatfield. Nine children were born to them--five sons and four daughters. Three sons and two daughters survive him--W. E. and Grant Dressler, of Hutchinson; Charles Dressler of Geneseo; Mrs. M. F. Rose of Satanta, Kansas, and Mrs. E. E. Morgan of Knoxville, Iowa. He came to Rice County, Kansas, in an early day and settled on a farm near Crawford, where he lived for a number of years. He professed religion many years ago and united with the Wesleyan Methodist Church at Forest Home school house. He was a good man, and had many friends who, with his sorrowing relatives, will miss him much. He said, just a few days before he died, that he was ready to leave this world, and his loved ones said good-bye, expecting to meet him in the better world. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at Forest Home school house by the Rev. George Watts of Little River, after which the remains were laid to rest in Forest **Home cemetery."

OBITUARY: Lucinda (HATFIELD) DRESSLER (1834-1904)
"Little River Monitor" Vol. XVIII #41 dated March 24, 1904:
"Mrs. Fred Dressler at Rest. Lucinda, beloved wife of Mr. Fred Dressler, residing near Crawford, departed this life Tuesday, March 22, 1904; age 69 years. The funeral was conducted at the Forest Home school house by the Wesleyan Methodist minister of Crawford, at 11 o'clock a.m., Wednesday, and the remains were laid to rest in the Forest *Home cemetery. The bereaved husband and children have the sympathy of many friends during their time of deep sorrow and affliction."

OBITUARY: WILLIAM ELMER DRESSLER (1852-1942)
From "The Hutchinson News", pg. 3 Column 2 dated March 24, 1942." W. E. DRESSLER; W. E. Dressler, 84, died at his home, 319 East 11th, yesterday morning after a two week illness.
Mr. Dressler was born in Niles, Mich., and moved to Little River from Iowa in 1879. He lived on a farm near Little River before moving to Hutchinson in 1906. He was employed by the Guymon-Petro Mercantile Co. 26 years. Mr. and Mrs. Dressler would have celebrated their 59th anniversary next April 12.
Funeral service will be held at 2;30 o'clock tomorrow afternoon at the First Methodist church with Rev. Gordon Thompson in charge. Interment will be at Fairlawn cemetery. The body may be viewed at the Volkland funeral home from 5 to 8 o'clock.
Surviving was his widow, Kate "Kittie" Smith Dressler, two sons , Claude Dressler, RFD 4, and Otis Dressler, San Francisco, CA.; three daughters, Mrs. Lynne Schrader, Concordia; Mrs. Charles Hornbaker, Castleton and Mrs. Sidney Dafforn, Kansas City, Mo.; two sisters, Mrs. Edith Rose, Hutchinson, and Mrs. Alice Morgan, Ames IA., six grandchildren and four grandchildren.
OBITUARY: Edith May (DRESSLER) ROSE

MRS. EDITH MAY ROSE: Mrs. Edith May Rose, 74, died at 9:45a.m. Sunday at her home 2 1/4 miles north of 30th on Plum. She had been in ill health for the last three years with a heart ailment.
Mrs. Rose was born in Iowa on Feb 1, 1871, and had lived in Reno county for 20 years. She had been known to many for the "wayside well" on her property where pure soft water has been available to anyone for the pumping.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Fern McMillion and a step daughter, Mrs. Opal Johnson of Pueblo, CO.; a sister Mrs. Alice Morgan, Knoxville, IA., and several nieces and nephews.
OBITUARY: FREDERICK ELIJAH DRESSLER (1886-1919) Son of William E. DRESSLER

FRED DRESSLER: The death of Fred Dressler occurred this morning at two o'clock at his home at 202 Ninth Avenue East, after an illness of five days. He was born in Rice County in 1886 and came to this city twelve years ago, where he took up the milling trade, and was with the Reno Flour Mills at the time of his death. He was married to Miss Cora Carpenter of Pratt in 1910 and besides his wife, he is survived by three children, Mildred age 7, Maxine age 5, and Jack age 3. He is also survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Dressler of this city, two brothers, Claude of this city, and Otis of Denver, Colorado, and three sisters, Ethel of Denver, Anna and Bernice of the city. No funeral arrangements have been made as yet awaiting word from relatives.
OBITUARY: Cora V. (CARPENTER) DRESSLER (1890-1919) & Maxine DRESSLER (1914-1919)
he Hutchinson News, March 11, 1819, Tuesday, page 8, column 4:
MOTHER AND DAUGHTER DIE: Last evening at 9 o'clock occurred the death of Mrs. Cora Dressler at her home 209 Ninth Avenue East. Just one hour later little Maxine, age five years also passed away. Both were victims of pneumonia to which the father and husband Fred Dressler succumbed on Thursday night. Two other children, *Mildred aged eight years and little Jack, four years old, are also very low and not expected to live. Mrs. Dressler was formerly Miss Cora Carpenter of Pratt and her mother Mrs. Campbell and two brothers who live at Pratt survive her.
OBITUARY: JACK DRESSLER (1915-1919)
The Hutchinson News, March 14, 1919 Friday, Page 13, Column 4:
JACK DRESSLER: The sad death of little Jack Dressler, occurred this morning at nine o'clock. He was the four year old son of the late Fred and Cora Dressler, who have passed away in the past week. The death of Jack leaves only one member of the family, Mildred, who is seven years of age, and who is very low, although she is reported some better today. Jack's father died last Thursday, and his mother and baby sister passed away last Monday. The funeral will be held Sundeay, from Crocker's Parlors.
*Note the third child, Mildred, who was eight in 1919, recovered from the influenza. She lived with her grandparents, but died six years later in 1925.
